Push and Pull of Plasma SDO zoomed in on an interesting display of magnetic forces at work as strands of plasma were tugged back and forth over three days (May 23 to 25, 2011) above the Sun's surface. Complex magnetic forces were pulling the material along magnetic field lines. We are observing ionized Helium at about 60,000 degrees C. in extreme ultraviolet light.
