Swirling Plasma A dynamic swirling mass of plasma kept spinning above the Sun's surface for over two days (Oct. 27-28, 2010) as SDO observed the action in extreme ultraviolet light. Not to be outdone, a shorter-lived prominence rose up and blew away into space near the upper left edge of the Sun. Together, they make a nice combination of activity on the ever-changing Sun.
